In this article, we will guide you through the process of adding new employees to Modeliks. It's easy, and we're here to help!
Step 1
To get started, simply click on the "Add employees" button in your Modeliks account. Next, enter the employee's name in the designated field. This can be the employee's actual name or a name for their position.
Step 2
Depending on the nature of the employee's work, select the employee's function from the drop-down menu 👇
- Sales & Marketing
- Research & Development
- General & Administrative
- Direct labor (Part of Cost of Goods Sold)
👀 If you choose "Direct labor" the employee costs will be categorized as cost of sales.
🔎If you choose any of the other three options, the employee costs will be categorized as operating expenses.
Step 3
Choose how you want to calculate the employee's salary, by selecting the options below:
- Dollar value per employee
- Percent of total revenue
- Percent of specific revenue stream
🔎If you choose $ value per employee, you will be prompted to enter the number of employees and the salary per employee on the following screen.
🔎 If you choose Percent of total/ specific revenue, you will be prompted to enter employee costs as a percent of revenue on the next screen.
Step 4
Next, you need to select the employment status. If the employee is employed by you, Modeliks will apply an additional cost for other employee benefits.
🌟 The burden rate is the percent of the employee's salary that will be applied as an additional cost.
You can adjust the burden rate by clicking the "Burden Rate" button on the main employee's screen. By default, the burden rate is set at zero (0).
🔎 If you select Contract workers there will be no additional cost applied.
Click "Next" and enter the number of employees on the input screen. Then, enter the gross salary per employee.
In our case, we will add 2 employees with a $2,500 salary per employee ✅
👀 Be sure to enter the monthly salary in the monthly inputs and the annual salary in the annual inputs.
Once you have entered all the necessary data, click "Save and close", and your employee costs will be calculated automatically ✔️
📝 Edit your numbers
Keep in mind that blue-colored numbers are editable right on the spot, black numbers are calculations and the arrow option allows you to paste the value to the end.
Alternatively, you can click on the edit icon that appears when you hover over the employee's name to make changes. You can add as many employees as you need by clicking the "Add employee" button 💪
